Knowsley Council

Knowsley Council is proud to be one of the Ambassador Authorities for Love Where You Live. We want to bring a sense of pride to our local communities by encouraging everyone to become more involved in the places where they live.

Knowsley already has a number of active community groups and hopes this campaign will encourage and inspire more residents to take pride in their community and take action to keep the borough cleaner and greener.

To see a short video featuring Knowsley residents talking about what they do in their local area and why they love Knowsley, see the film below.

Cllr Graham Morgan, Knowsley's Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Delivery (pictured above), said: "We are proud to be the first 'ambassador' partner in the North West chosen by Keep Britain Tidy to take the lead in this campaign.

"The idea is to encourage everyone to take responsibility - that's individuals, local authorities, voluntary groups, government, local businesses and multi-national companies - to change the way people think and act about littering. We all love something about where we live and this new campaign is about everyone working together to improve the local environment where we live."

The campaign was launched locally on Monday 19 September 2011 with a celebration event to recognise the great work undertaken by some of Knowsley's volunteer groups, 'Friends' groups and partner organisations. (see picture above).

A range of events including clean ups, conservation days, health walks, grow initiatives and recycling swap days are all taking place. If you are a resident of Knowsley and would like to get involved in an event or would like to organise your own event, then register here  to find out more.
